Testing new remote/offline blogging software.
Windows:
Zoundry's Raven: is an open source multi-blog, multi-server desktop blog editor and publisher. Is very nice at creating a new account to established weblogs. This note is being created as a "weblog" (might have needed to be a "blog"). I should be able to come back and edit this note and re-publish. It has an impressive number of blogger services/servers it will talk to. In my case Drupal was right there. After entering my account info it grabbed all my articles from my site. During the test of posting/publishing, Raven did some funny things. I clicked post twice, my article lost quite a few words :(. Looking on my site shows all the words of the article, but the local Raven has words missing. I clicked publish a couple more times and more words got dropped. Finally only "Zoundry Document" remains on local. Refresh does not bring it back.
Qumana: is a free multi-blog editor that looks good too. I am using it to edit this posted blog article. Setup was easy, just tell it my site and it found out what was needed. Now we see how it worked.
Evaluation:
Zoundry's UI is per user and probably per account. Easy to be one person.
Qumana's UI is all users and all accounts. Easy to bounce all over.
Android:
Drupal Editor is an Android blog editor and publisher. Can have many accounts and works just fine. I will not write long detailed articles on my little Droid screen, but it sure is convinent for quick notes and place holders to come back and edit.
